This is why I have weekly averages. My weight has been trending upward. I know why it has also. My daily average calorie consumption is almost double what it was a few weeks ago. I haven’t been riding my bike nearly enough.
I did have a great time. I spent time with my girlfriend. We cooked meals together, went out to eat, went to a movie, and went to the zoo. I did tell her that I need to fit my healthy lifestyle back into my life. 🙂
I’ve also realized that my binge-eating problems are still around. I had kept them in check by limiting my available choices. That’s a bit harder with someone else around, and when going out to eat. Just before posting this I was eating way too much of an apple pie. I need to put it away now, or I’ll eat more.
Hoo boy, in the past when I have started a new relationship, gaining weight always came along with it. It’s so much fun going out to eat, it’s a natural for dating. Eating out wreaks havoc on a healthy diet, though. I hope you are able to work some healthy exercise into your outings — walking is fun, too.
I’m glad you have found someone nice to spend time with! I have been living with my excellent boyfriend for 7 years now, and it really does make life a lot better.
Eating out is a weakness of mine. I’ll need to change what I order if I continue to go out to eat. Having a 2000+ calorie meal just doesn’t cut it, unless it’s uncommon.
We went to the zoo yesterday, so there was definitely some walking involved. We went for a hike in the woods (with the dogs) last weekend. There is some exercise involved.
The biggest issue is time. She lives 90 miles from my house. I spend a lot of time on the phone with her (usually late at night) which means I have trouble getting up early enough to ride to work.
I’ve made up my mind that I *will* ride to work at least three days this week. I will continue to work on my eating habits, and I’ll try to go out to eat less often (even if that means cooking for her when she comes over).
The funny thing is, it’ll be less of an issue if we do end up living together.
I have a buddy that call me from his bike.. maybe you can call your girl while riding? .. she might even think it’s cute.
I took a picture on one of my rides, and sent it to her from my phone. I didn’t call her, but that’s mostly because she was at work.
A walk in the woods with the dogs sounds glorious! I live in the middle of Chicago, so I’d have to get in my car and drive a half hour to find some woods. You’re lucky you live in such a beautiful place, especially for your biking. I’ve driven from Chicago to Louisville several times, and southern Indiana is really pretty.
A home-cooked healthy meal for your gal — now you’re talking! lol
