Thank you for the encouragement.

I started taking vitamins and fish oil two years ago, and that helped quite a bit. I'm not entirely sure why I'm having more problems now. It might be poor sleep due to pain.

I'd really rather avoid drugs or further medical care. I've had it up to here (hand at my neck) with doctors and medical bills.

It probably isn't helping any that I haven't ridden my bike since Friday. That changes today. I'm riding to work today.

Dave, I'm so sorry, and I do understand, because I have suffered from depression in the past. I know that the experts say that exercise will help boost your mood, but it's such a vicious cycle (no pun intended!) You feel lousy, so you don't exercise, which makes you feel lousier.

Could it be time to talk to your doc about an antidepressant? I took Prozac for about 5 years, and was able to go off it several years ago, and I have been doing very well. The Prozac definitely helped me, especially with that "paralyzed" feeling that you are describing -- that inability to get anything accomplished. There's also a great book that I got a lot of help from, I think it's called "Getting Up When You're Feeling Down". You might want to look for it in the Amazon used book section, you could probably pick it up pretty cheap.

I hope you feel better soon!!
